The annual Business Exchange (TBE) Awards celebrate business successes for firms and individuals across Wiltshire, Bath and Somerset. Here Gooding Accounts we’re proud to have been named as finalists in every single category we were nominated for. We’ll be joining a our fellow finalists from a diverse range of local businesses at a special awards dinner this October where the winners will be announced.
From hundreds of entries the team are delighted to be in with a chance of winning the following:
2024 has been an exceptional year of fundraising for Gooding Accounts as we race towards our target of at least £50,000 of charitable donations by the end of the year. The judges were impressed with the commitment of entire team as they strive to make a positive impact in the community. Alongside fundraiaing events and challenges the team have donated their time to work in charity shops, sponsored a local amateur dramatic group and a variety of local sports teams and even visited a local school to talk to the children on World Book Day.
The judges were impressed with the sense of belonging and community that the Gooding Accounts’ team demonstrate. Underpinned by their Values (Be Present – Challenge Yourself – Be thoughtful – Be a Team) the ongoing support and open communication across all levels of the business has created a strong team who genuinely enjoy spending time together.
TBE Awards judge Kate Westbrook, Thrings, said, “It’s an incredible honour to congratulate the finalists for the Dream Team Award. These companies all have exceptional teams who are committed to each other and their respective businesses and set a really high bar for others.”
Congratulations to our apprentice, Lara, who’s been shortlisted for the Rising Star Award for young people demonstrating proactivity, commitment and going the extra mile at the outset of their career.
Since joining the firm in late 2023 Lara has thrown herself into life at Gooding Accounts and her hardworking attitude and willingness to take on any challenge has impressed from day one. Alongside her AAT qualifications and work in the office Lara has found time to create additional solutions for clients and update the team with learnings to make their day-to-day work more efficient. She was the first to take on a personal challenge as part of our 10 year anniversary fundraising, completing the Bath Half marathon (despite not being a runner!) in aid of Caner research UK. She also volunteered to visit a local primary school to talk about her career and working life as part of their World Book Day Celebrations. Well done Lara and good luck in the final!
Competition was strong in the Rising Star category and judges commented that it was extremely tough to whittle down the entrants to a shortlist of just four. So whilst Jack just missed out on a place on the shortlist he joins a group of five other nominees in being commended. Congratulations Jack, we’re proud to have you on our team!
Congratulations to Sam has been named as a finalist in the Leader of the Year category, joining 3 other business leaders on the shortlist – all of whom have showcased exemplary leadership skills over the past year. Sam’s ongoing commitment to the accountancy sector, his team, clients and the community helped him through to the final of this hard-fought award. Alongside leading a growing business the judges were impressed that Sam found time to drive the firm’s 2024 charity fundraising whilst training and completing his own personal challenge – one ultra marathon every month between May and September to raise funds for Julia’s House Children’s Hospice.
It’s not long to wait until the winners are revealed at the awards ceremony on Thursday 17th October – good luck Sam!
