We’re pleased to announce that our very own Sam Gooding has been elected to join the AAT Members Advisory Council. The Advisory Council will offer advice to the board of trustees – representing the almost 124,000 AAT members across the UK.

The AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) is one of the leading bodies offering qualifications and careers support for UK accounting professionals.

The AAT’s Members’ Advisory Council (MAC) was created in October 2024 to provide representation and perspectives from across the AAT’s membership, allowing members to contribute and make recommendations to help shape the AAT’s future. The new council will ensure that the views of the AAT’s members remains at the heart of decision making.

In a record turnout Sam was voted by the AAT’s member to form part of MAC and will serve as part of the council for three years. The council offers a range of perspectives from a broad mix of individuals across sectors, geography and levels of seniority. Members of the council will be advocates for the Accountancy sector, representing the AAT externally – judging awards, attending third-party events, and advocating for the value of professional membership and professional qualifications.

Sam has long held a passion for providing career development for local accountancy talent, with a successful internal programme beginning just a few years after the firm was founded. In 2025 GT Academy was launched to continue to provide outstanding accountancy qualifications for businesses and individuals across Wiltshire.
