Here at Gooding Accounts we’re passionate about supporting our local community. That’s why we’ve chosen a range of local charities to support with our 2024 fundraising challenge. Many of these charities have personal connections and have even supported friends and families of our team.
Wiltshire Mind are an independent charity supporting people across our community who are experiencing mental health problems and emotional distress. The charity relies on voluntary donations from the local community to help fund their work, from adult counselling to peer support groups to Wellbeing programmes from schools and much more.
Gooding Accounts will be donating all the proceeds from our Spring Quiz Night, and every pound will go towards the vital services provided by Wiltshire Mind.
Based just a mile from our Warminster Office the Wessex MS Therapy Centre provides therapy, information and practical support for people with multiple sclerosis and other conditions and their families and friends. Over 130,000 people in the UK are diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (or MS) a neurological condition and auto-immune disorder that affects the brain and central nervous system.
Our ‘Sober for 6’ team will be donating all funds from their challenge to help the charity continue to provide their valuable service to Warminster and beyond.
Julia’s House is an award winning children’s hospice providing care for children with life limiting and life shortening conditions, wherever and whenever it’s needed, be it at home, in the community or in their hospices. The charity provides a holistic approach, from care for the affected child to help and support for parents, carers, siblings – giving families the opportunity to relax, recharge and make the most of every precious moment.
Sherelyn and Sam have chosen to support Julia’s House by completing an phenomenal 5 Ultra Marathons between May and September 2024.
Founded in 2018 in memory of Mark Knapp, a much-loved husband and father of 2 young children, who died very suddenly and unexpectedly, Made a Mark was established to support bereaved children. Made a Mark provides memory boxes, helping professionals to capture precious memories and support to children who have lost a parent or sibling.
Gooding Accounts will be donating funds raised from our 2024 Bingo nights to this fantastic local charity.
Dorothy House provide palliative and end of life care to adults with a progressive, treatable but not curable life-limiting illness, their families and carers. Services are provided completely free of charge 24-7 for people across Wiltshire, Somerset and Bath & North East Somerset. They understand that life can be turned upside down when someone is ill, not only for individual, but also for family, friends and carers – so support is available for everyone!
Without donations of £10 million every year the charity would not be able to supply its’ outstanding care to the community. The funds raised from Gooding Accounts’ Golf Day at Cumberwell Park will de donated to support this fantastic charity.
Since 1990 Wiltshire Air Ambulance have provided a vital lifesaving services to Wiltshire, Bath and surrounding areas, attending an average of 3 incidents every day. The highly specialised critical care team can reach anywhere in Wiltshire in 11 minutes and Bath in just 4 minutes. This speed can literally mean the difference between life and death for a patient. The charity receives no regular funding from the Government or National Lottery grants and relies on donations from the public and local businesses to fund the helicopter, crew and all of their support staff.
In 2024 the charity will need to raise £4.5 million to continue it’s essential services across our county. All of the funds from our Grand Summer Party will be donated in support of this deserving cause.
A team of 9 will also be taking part in the Snowdon Sunrise Challenge, tackling Wales’ highest peak in total darkness to raise funds for this amazing charity.
