On Thursday 11th July the Gooding Accounts Team welcomed 15 teams of golfers to the prestigious Cumberwell Park Golf Club for our inaugural Golf Day in aid of Wiltshire charity, Dorothy House Hospice.
Experienced golfers, and some who had only taken up a club for the very first time that day, enjoyed a full 18 holes in the glorious sunshine. Local gin distillery – Still Sisters – provided complementary refreshments from a fabulous spot on the 16th tee from their gin horse box, whilst Trowbridge Ford provided the chance to win a Ford Puma for a hole in one. Sadly no-one was able to drive away with the car, though some golfers came within a few short feet! The Gooding Accounts team were on hand throughout the day to ensure that no-one was short of a drink (or two) and a snack to keep them going during the event.
A delicious two-course evening buffet was served as the teams came in from the course whilst those who had completed their rounds awaited the results. Congratulations to Ross Pike Heating Services for taking the team prize with Pete Gizzi walking away with the win for best individual round.
We were lucky enough to be joined by Chelsea and Tracey from Dorothy House Hospice who gave a brief reminder of the importance of fundraising and the fantastic work that the charity carry out across our county every single day. Proceeds from the entry fee, raffle, sales of mulligans and our ever-popular bingo bonza game came to a grand total of £5000, every single penny will go to help fund the work Dorothy House carry out for families in our community.
